Dog ate bones, now lethargic, not eating, and in pain. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bully | Female | 55 lbs

My name is Jordan Triplett My pocket bully has had a loss in appetite and is drinking a lot and she is lethargic and has red eyes and moans when she lays down. I changed her food about a week ago and she showed no interest so I chopped up some boiled chicken breast with bones in it and mixed it in she ate it then a few days later she lost appetite. What could be wrong

It is not good to give your dog bones, especially poultry bones as they can shatter and cause obstructions or irritate/injure the GI tract. If November has eaten bones and is now showing signs of illness (not eating, moaning in pain, seeming in distress) it would be best to seek veterinary care ASAP for an exam.
