My new hamster is scared after a fall. How can I calm her down?

Question

I got my hamster a few days ago. I tried holder her today and she jumped and fell off of my desk. Now she keeps trying to escape and is sleeping above her bedding verses below where she used to sleep. Did I scare/stress her too much and what can I do to get her back to normal. Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Female | unspayed

The good news is that typically this improves on its own just by giving them a bit of space. I would not be too concerned about this. I would recommend you do not handle her anymore today and wait until tomorrow. A bit of space is likely to resolve this issue. Best of luck!
