Pet's info: Small Animal | Gerbil | Male | unneutered
My gerbil's nose looks like it has dried red mucus on it and he keeps picking at it. What could be wrong? Is there something I should do?

It's possible there could be an injury to the nose or some dried-on discharge. I would use a clean washcloth to gently remove the debris and see if it returns. If it does return or Stuart shows any additional signs of illness, scheduling a vet checkup to rule out issues such as an injury or respiratory issue is best.
