Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs
My dog has gotten bags under his eyes that are a dark brown now and we are not sure why that has happened. He began getting around the time we got a new dog.

Thank you so much for the photos. This is actually a sign of excessive tearing. This is common for the breed, but if there is excessive liquid under the eye, then there could be a tear duct problem, however this rarely happens on both sides simultaneously, so I would have to guess that this is normal for your pet. Chihuahua's are notorious for being able to cry when they are sad or fearful, so I'm wondering if Hercules isn't feeling sentimental about your new addition to the home. Try to do fun things with him and continue to show him lots of affection so that he can adjust to the new addition. Excessive tearing can also indicate that some dust or particles are getting in the eye, causing irritation. Pet dander from the other pet could also be the culprit here. In the meantime, its best to wipe under his eyes every few days with a warm wet clean cloth to help remove any debris or gunk that can then cause skin irritation. Best of luck with your pet Hercules moving forward. Take care!
