My puppy has groin lumps, rash, and bloody diarrhea. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 13 days old | 67 lbs

Golden retriever puppy has small lumps near groin, doesn't cause him pain when pressure is applied but looks like scabbing or a rash is over them as well, along with diarrhea with very small amounts of blood. Taking him to vet in 2 days but wondering if it's anything to be super worried about.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. The skin issues may be due to a mild skin infection. I recommend that you have Kenobi evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications for diarrhea depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
