What substrate is safe for African Dwarf Frogs in a planted tank?

first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks! That's terrific news! It is great to read of your frog's recovery. Most keepers will keep a bare bottom tank. This will prevent ingestion of substrate and makes finding food easier for the frogs. It also makes it easier to keep the tank clean. Sand would be fine. If they inadvertently ingest some, it should pass easily. If you decide on gravel or river rock, make sure it it large enough to prevent ingestion.
