My cat had heat, but isn't pregnant. Why isn't she in heat again?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 3 months old | 4 lbs

Our cat was last in heat about a month & a half ago. She is very small but has not shown any signs of being pregnant, is there another cause for her not going into heat?

When the days become shorter as you head into winter, cats may not go into heat as often. They tend to cycle more often during times when the days are longer, such as spring and summer. Cats are seasonal breeders, and this may be why she hasn't gone into heat again. Best of luck.
