Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is not possible to know without being able to evaluate Bowser. These could be benign or malignant growths. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. I recommend you have Bowser evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good day!

The bump you are seeing could be a mass, or it could be a skin lesion caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, or could be a combination of the above. I recommend making an appointment to have Bowser seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the bump you’ve noticed and to make sure it is treated appropriately. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine what is causing the bump and to provide treatment. If you notice the bump is oozing or becoming ulcerated, if it appears to be causing Bowser pain (if you notice him licking at the area or limping) then I recommend calling your vet right away. In the meantime you can put an e-collar (cone) on Bowser to help reduce the risk of him licking at the area, as this can reduce the risk of infection. With Bowser's young age, it is not very likely that he would have a malignant mass, but it is a good idea to get it checked just in case, just as it is with any mass. Good luck!
