Can I train my mini horse as a therapy animal? What's required?

Hello, i am considering getting a mini horse to train as a Therapy Horse. I don’t know a lot about therapy horses, but what are the laws of therapy animals, training that needs to be done etc. but i do know how to care for a mini as i’ve been riding for a while now. Also, can a therapy animal be trained my it’s owner? Is there certification? Any websites?
