Can I give my budgie lettuce? Is it safe for parakeets to eat?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 7 days old

I read that I can't give my budgie lettuce from the internet? Is true I can't find a reliable source? I have given him ice berg lettuce before and he loved it and didn't affect him but is it OK for him?

Lettuce can cause some digestive upset in birds and runny stool. I would recommend feeding fresh fruits and other veggies (like zucchini, carrots, and peppers) instead. There is also an increased risk of E. coli In bagged lettuce products right now so I would stay away from those as well. I hope this helps.
