My dog won't eat, is inactive, and shivers days after surgery. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 9 years and 1 month old

My dog underwent surgery on Monday. She’s about 9 years old. I’m worried because it’s now Thursday and she’s still extremely inactive and refuses to eat food. She’s drinking water okay though. She’s also continuously shivering but she’s in a warm room with a blanket.

From your description it sounds like she is in pain. By now, Thursday this should have gotten much less (not knowing what surgery she underwent I cannot give you an exact time frame). By now she should also eat again. You should take her back to the vet for a recheck, as this is not normal and she would at least need more pain medicine to make her more comfortable.
