My dog on urinary diet peeing himself while sleeping. Should I worry?

Hello, my dog (between 5-6 yrs old) recently started an Rx diet for crystals in his urine. He has been eating Royal Canin Urinary SO for over a month now and doing well on it. Just tonight he has peed himself twice while laying down/sleeping on the bed and on the couch, which he has never done before even when potty training. Should I be worried? I am thinking about taking him to emergency vet in AM. Any other symptoms I should look out for?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The urinary tract symptoms you describe could be due to a urinary tract infection, urinary stones, a tumor, among other possibilities. Keep in mind that this may be unrelated to the crystals and can even be something like urinary incontinence. I would continue monitoring for signs of painful urination or bloody urine. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a good night!
