Why is my cat dragging her butt and always hungry? Is it worms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

I am wondering if my cat has worms. I saw her drag her bottom across a quilt, like maybe she was itching. She also meows a lot for food even when she has some in her dish. Because she was originally a feral cat and is very difficult to catch, I'd like to know if there is some medicine I can put in her food. Thank you.

She may be dragging her bum on the floor because she may have an impacted anal sac. This is not something that can be treated easily with medicine in her food (you could try giving her glandex, or add canned pumpkin, not pie filling in her food. It would be best to catch her and take her to the veterinarian for an exam and expressing the anal sacs. This should remedy the problem
