My older cat makes plastic-like noises when swallowing. What's happening?

My older cat Sonic seems to be making noises with her mouth. It sounds like plastic or something i guess when she is swallowing? Just wondering your thoughts about what this could be? She will most likely be going to the vet soon. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 18 years and 10 months old | 9 lbs

I'm sorry to hear that your cat isn't quite right. I would be concerned about a tumor or polyp in her throat/mouth, or possibly that she's retching, without actually vomiting. I would agree that getting her to the vet soon (in the next few days, as possible with the holiday) would be wise.
