My dog's limping on her paw, but now she's running. What's wrong?

What is wrong with my dogs foot? She’s been limping on it the other day and today but she’s been running around the back yard and jumping around today so it’s better. Just curious what it could be? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 2 years and 7 months old | 50 lbs

Ouch, that looks quite nasty and should really be looked at by your veterinarian as this could be a nasty cut or even a torn off toe or open fracture. Even if it hurts less now, there still is a good chance of this getting infected, so your veterinarian may want to prescribe an antibiotic for your dog and even bandage the paw to keep dirt from entering the wound.
