My Yorkie ate small silicone pieces from a brush. Will she be okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 5.95 lbs

My Yorkie ate a piece of silicone or rubber, one strap of a hand brush like the one in the picture when I wasn't looking. I think she broke it into little pieces first. Will she be ok? I'm so worried!

If she chewed it up, she should be able to pass the pieces. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. If she develops any of these symptoms, have her examined by your veterinarian. Abdominal x-rays can be done to diagnose any obstructions.
