Can a kitten's organs move to its chest after being run over?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My kittens internal organs where driven up to his chest do u think he was run over? The vet did an X-ray and said he couldn’t of been run over that it was a hard impact to the abdomen that drove his organs up I confronted my brother he said he accidentally ran the kitten over but the vet said it was impact to the stomach could he have been run over? At first I thought he had a broken leg because he was limping but it wasn’t he had to be put down because the vet said he wad In to much pain

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I do think that he could have been run over. However, your veterinarian would know better as they evaluated him and know exactly how everything looks from an anatomical standpoint. I am so sorry you are going through this. Best of luck!
