Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 years and 7 months old
My 13 year old cat was diagnosed with hypothyroidism earlier this year, after going missing for a few days and returning skinny and ill. She has since been on 1ml of Thyronorm twice daily. However, in recent weeks she has gained a lot of weight and looks like she has less and less energy. Could it be that the medication has turned the tables to the other extreme on her condition? My parents are reluctant to go to the vets due to costs, but I think it might be worth it for her health. Thanks.

Your kitty needs to have her thyroid hormone levels checked at the vet's. Obviously the Thyronorm is working, as she is gaining weight. It appears that he was hyperthyroid (overactive thyroid). Best take her to the vet for a recheck as her dosage may need to be adjusted.
