Why is my cat breathing heavily, has bad breath, and body swelling?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 14 years and 6 months old | 11 lbs

My cat started breathing from his mouth and his whole chest moves also his breath became very very bad then his face swelled but the swelling went away or rather moved. His one leg swelled like it’s moving fluid and it goes from face to leg then both legs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Open mouth breathing can be a sign of many conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, heart disease, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Bruce evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. Treatment would be dependent on findings. Good luck and have a good night!
