My hamster is just sitting in the corner. Is he ill or injured?

Hi. I just bought a syrian hamster from petco 4 days ago. Everything seemed fine until a few hours ago. Chip has only done two things today -- Use his wheel, and sit in a corner of his cage, staring. I'm worried that he might be getting ill? Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Male

Thanks for reaching out about Chip. First thing, Petco should be contacted with your concerns. Second, Chip should be seen by a veterinarian, especially if Petco does not respond. It is possible he injured himself while running on the wheel or other activity. A soft tissue strains should improve but more severe injuries need assistance. Good luck.
