My dog's private area is swollen after groomer nicked him. Help!

My dog is 1 year and half old. He recently got a hair cut at the dog salon and the groomer accidentally nicked him while cutting the hair from the private part area. The area around his genital is now irritated and has gotten swollen and puffy. He keeps trying to lick or bite at it and I found a way to stop that. But what should I do to get rid of it? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 2 years and 10 months old | 12 lbs

This looks serious enough to take Grayson to a veterinarian. Try to see your veterinarian tomorrow, or take him to a pet ER. This looks seriously infected/inflamed and Grayson will need pain medicine and likely a prescription antibiotic to alleviate the swelling and infection. Make sure he cannot lick his prepuce and penis (either with an e-collar or a snug fitting t-shirt) as licking will introduce more bacteria.
