My cat has a white soft lump near her ear. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 4 months old | 11 lbs

Dear Sir/Madam, My cat has a white coloured soft wart or abscess beteen the cheek and ear for a couple days. The length is about 0.5cm. I am not sure what was the cause of this. Should I take her to the vet to treat this lump immediately? I look forward to hearing your advice.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Holly. It may be a wart or skin tag, but also has the appearance of a tick. This would be more likey if she spends time outdoors. It would be worth having her evaluated by her veterinarian. It does not appear to be an abscess though. This would present as a swelling under the skin and would make her feel ill. I hope this information helps!
