Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 4 lbs

Hi there, I have a cat that is over 1 years old and just had her babys 2 weeks ago. Im a bit concerened about her weight she is 2.1kgs atm but all her kittens are a healthy weight. We feed our cat at least 4times a day but she still looks underweight. I was wandering what food i should give her to fatten her up? I have dry food, wet food, and raw food at home can i feed all of this to her throughout the day?

Nursing queens (female cats) should be fed a high quality kitten food. See the link below for more information: https://www.hillspet.ca/en-ca/cat-care/nutrition-feeding/what-to-feed-pregnant-and-nursing-cats Raw diets are not recommended by the AVMA due to the risk of transmission of food borne diseases to both pets and humans.
