My dog gets ear infections. What are these pink marks in his ears?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 36 lbs

I have a 7yr old basset/beagle mix we rescued a little over 6 months ago and recently (maybe last 1-2 weeks) I noticed these pinkish marks in his ears, what are they and should I be concerned? We clean his ears weekly as he is prone to ear infections (he had one shortly after we adopted him). His behavior, bowels, and eating habits are normal and he is not scratching his ears abnormally frequent either.

These marks are small enough that I would not be overly concerned about these spots in the photos. As long as the lesions are not getting larger and he isn't excessively shaking/scratching I would just continue to monitor his years. They look like they could be spots where he may have rubbed or scratched the ear but do not appear excessively red and the ear canal appears normal.
