Why is my dog suddenly kicking grass after pooping? Is it normal?

My dog will turn 2 in December. It is been 2 days now after he defecates he kicks grass, he never did that before. Is that normal and why he is starting to do this. Thanks. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 15 lbs

Thanks recent Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This is a somewhat common behavior in dogs. It is not known why they do this. However, this is a behavior that he will most likely grow out of. I would not be concerned about this. Good luck!
