My senior dog vomited, now she's weak and slow. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 11 years and 7 months old | 11 lbs

My dog Foxy was vomiting on Tuesday night (today is Thursday). Yesterday and this morning she was acting fine. She was drinking water, ate some dry dog food and even ate a treat this morning before I left for work. This afternoon when I got home she’s acting like she’s a little weak. Moving but moving slow. She went outside like normal and went #1 & #2. #2 looked normal. There wasn’t a lot of it, but it wasnt mushy or anything. Should I be concerned? She’s just laying around. Not moving much.

At her age, we definitely want to take changes like this seriously. If she's eating and drinking, breathing 10-30 breaths per minute while resting, able to get up and move around, and has normal pink gums, it doesn't sound like an emergency, but I would recommend a vet visit in the next few days if she doesn't go back to normal.
