Hi would my vet be able to see otitis externa in my dogs ears by examining them ?

Yes, a general practice veterinarian should be able to diagnose this with an exam. A swab of the ears should be examined under the microscope to diagnose a yeast or bacterial infection. Afterwards, the appropriate medication can be dispensed for treatment.
