My dog has a film over its eye. What could it be and what to do?

Pugs, as you know, are prone to develop several eye problems such as corneal ulcers and chronic inflammation of the cornea (so the cornea can become blackish on the surface due to chronic rubbing against either skin folds or cilia). I can see that there is a chronic irritation from the pics but cannot rule out the presence of corneal ulcers. This can be done by a physical examination at your local veterinarian and would be essential to give appropriate treatment. I would definitively recommend a check up to establish the presence of corneal ulcers first and then decide what treatment is needed.
