Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 12 years and 5 months old | 60 lbs
My 12-year-old Goldendoodle has been losing weight recently and I have a vet appointment scheduled but I was wondering if you could recommend a new type of food/food topper/supplement that would help him put on some weight? He has always been on the smaller size (never heavier than 70lbs) and I am just worried about him losing weight. We have been putting cheese and chicken on his current food (Iams ProActive Health Adult Chunks) and he seems to like that but I would like to find a better option

Before changing food I would actually recommend going to the veterinary visit you have scheduled. I would recommend getting some blood work done to make sure there is nothing systemically causing the weight loss. Once we determine there is nothing else going on with him then I would discuss what type of food he is currently on and seeing if a change in diet is ideal. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
