Is the bald spot under my cat's chin caused by her collar?

My cat has a small bald spot under her chin, the skin looks healthy, and there hasn’t been any changes in her behavior. I’m wondering if the collar might be the cause (as I noticed it when the collar was removed). Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old | 15 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sometimes this can actually occur due to the collar being on not even necessarily due to being tight. I think it would be reasonable to remove the collar and perhaps use a harness and put the ID tag on that one. You may do this to see if the hair grows back. There is a good chance that it will.
