Do female birds lay eggs all year, or just in spring/summer?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Finch | Female | unspayed

I understand female birds lay eggs without a male.. My question is do they lay eggs all year round or just in the spring & summer with more daylight time?

Most will lay only in the Spring and Summer. If you find she is laying excessively or year round, limit exposure to daylight and adjust room temperature by a few degrees. This should stop her from laying.
