Why does my dog make human-like sobbing sounds? Should I worry?

My dog was making sobbing sounds (just like how humans sob) earlier tonight. Thankfully it has stopped after a few minutes. Should sobbing sounds be cause for alarm? Pet's info: Dog | Spanish Water Dog | Male | neutered | 6 months and 22 days old | 42 lbs
