My 5-month puppy has double teeth and peeling paw pads. Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 5 days old | 76 lbs

My Rottweiler puppy of about 5 months old is growing two canine teeth together on both sides of her bottom jaw. Is this normal? She also has other teeth in her jaw shaking and falling off as some new teeth replace the teeth that come off. Is this normal? Before her teeth began to shake and fall off, her paw pads peeled off and new fresh paw pads are now in the place of the peeled off paw pads. Do these things happen to all 5 months old puppies? - Please see attached photos as well. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Stephanie is just losing her baby teeth, that is completely normal. Paw pads do not normally fall off, so I wonder if she burned her feet one day. If they have grown back normally I wouldn't worry about it anymore. Best of luck with Stephanie!
