We have a huge fenced in dog kennel about 30 feet from our house and our dogs go in it to use the bathroom. But when we take them out without leashes they run away. We already tried electric collers. Building a fence to the kennel is not an option. How do we do this???

If your dogs are not off-leashed trained then I recommend not taking them off the leashes. You can hire a trainer to see if they can train your dogs to become off leash trained. They would be the best ones to help you. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Some dogs no matter how hard you work with them to have them go off leash, they just cannot be trusted off leash. You can start with a short leash and treats in your pocket. Let him have some lead and then call him back and him Max a treat. Little by little letting him have more freedom and see if he comes back. If it is going to work it will take time. I never truly recommend having your dog completely off leash because if something catches their eyes, ears or nose they sometimes will not come back because they are so focused on something. I always caution people when trying to do this. Otherwise, I would work with a trainer to help. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
