Mitzi is pregnant and due to give birth any time now. Since Tuesday she's been losing her mucus plug and today her temperature was 98.6°F. she's also having minor contractions. Should I be expecting puppies soon?

If this represents a temperature drop of one degree from her baseline then you should see puppies within 24 hours. If she is truly having contractions you should see puppies within four hours. If she is actively pushing you should see a puppy within 30 minutes. If you are not seeing puppies in this amount of time, or if Mitzi seems painful you should contact your vet. Good luck!

Yes, if she is having contractions labour and delivery should progress within hours and within 12-18hours of the temperature drop. Please arrange a check up and ultrasound if not progressing within this timescale to ensure everything is going ok
