My pregnant cat is nursing. Will it delay her labor at 63 days?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 5 months old | 15 lbs

My pregnant cat is at her 63 day gestation day and not acting like she is going to have the kittens anytime soon. She has been nursing kittens that I found in my moms car engine 2 months ago. Could them nursing cause her not to go into labor?

No, nursing won't cause her to not go into labor. A cat's pregnancy can last up to 68 days, so you still have time. If Lavender reaches 69 days of pregnancy without going into labor, take her into the vet for a health check. I hope this helps!
