Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 70 lbs

Hi I'm on SSI and I share my home with a 10 year old mixed breed. He is the love of my life. He was recently vomiting all the time. I took him to a community vet in which an x-ray was done and a mass was found . The vet thinks he has a lot of cancer in the abdomen area and I was told I needed to put him down I love him and cannot do this at this time He is still moving around easy, has an appetite but throws up. Now even on zofran. What else can I do to help him

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Marko. I am sorry to hear about his diagnosis. If he is still eating, drinking and acting like himself, then that seems like a good quality of life. This will likely change as his disease progresses though. In the meantime, you can see about trying a different anti-vomiting medication on him. Cerenia would be a good choice. This may control the vomiting better and help him feel a bit better. I hope this information helps!
