My cat has roundworms, eyes look strange after dewormer. Is she blind?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 12 lbs

I just found out my cat has roundworms, I bought the de wormer and gave it to her but her eyes look off almost like it takes longer for her extra eyelid to open... I’ve read that some cats have gone blind from worms. Is there anything other than the de wormer that I can or should do for her? I don’t have the extra funds for a vet visit right now.

Hello, I am sorry to hear about Nala. Roundworms in cats primarily reside in their GI tract and not within their eyes. I would not be worried that the signs you are seeing are secondary to blindness. It is possible that Nala may have a large worm burden and is not feeling well secondary to this. if her signs do not resolve I would recommend having her evaluated by your veterinarian. The dewormer should help with the roundworms but she may have an unrelated ocular problem. Hope this helps, good luck!
