Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 3 months old | 26 lbs
My name is Nicole and I have a 3 year old cat named Jackson. He will be laying next to me in bed peaceful and purring then all of a sudden LATCH onto my arm (usually when I am holding my phone). I have to pry open his mouth to get him off. he gets played with and fed regularly. the bruising this bite created is unreal. Im at the point where if I do not find a solution I will have to find him a new home. His bites are EXTREMELY painful. It is almost if he is bipolar. Any help would be great.

This is extremely concerning since cat bites are very serious. You can end up in the hospital for multiple days because of them. I would make sure you have a place for him to hide in, climb on and look out the window. I would also make sure you really wear him out. Playing with him with toys only (not your hands) and seeing if that helps. You can also talk to your veterinarian about trying behavior medication. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
