My dog's nose is scratched after a fight. Will his smell be okay?

Hi my 2 dogs had a bit of a scrap tonight and my older dog came off worse as he hasa junk scratched of his nose and am really worried and don't no what to do for the best to help him he has resantly lost his eye sight due to cataracts and really don't what him to lose his sense of smell thanks in advance .

Ouch, poor Titch! I see what you mean about scratch on his nose, but this likely will not cause him to lose his sense of smell. It's simply a wound on the outer portion of his nose. I would gently clean the wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
