My GSD won't eat dog food. Is human food making him lethargic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | DOG-LARGE-LONGHAIR | Male | 8 years and 10 months old | 45 lbs

I have a GSD dog of 7 years as I have said before that he will not eat properly the food which we are giving to the dog like pedigree .I should give him eggs with pedigree and also he like the curd rice but from few days onwards he is not eating properly but he is active but most of the time he will sleep he won't play. And I have consult with the veterinary doctor and he says that my love and care is only the problem that my pet will not eat properly. I will give only veg food with pedigree .

I think your veterinarian has a point. You must not feed your dog human food as it will keep him from eating proper dog food. Please feed your GSD only good quality dog food. Do not give your dog raw eggs, only boiled eggs and only as a treat once in a while. Do not give him curd rice, as this does not have the proper nutrition for a dog. Please feed your dog proper dog food.
