Is prescription kidney diet food safe for my healthy 6 & 8 year old cats?

My father's ailing cat recently passed away. She was on a name brand Kidney Care prescription diet. After she passed he gave me the last sealed bag he had. Would it be safe to feed my two healthy cats, ages 6 & 8?
