My cat's foot has sores and makes popping noises. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 8 lbs

My cat Gizmoe has something wrong with his left hind foot, theres sores and now theres this odd noise coming from the top of his same foot. The sounds kind of sounds like a poping noise. Where the noise is at there is no cuts or anything but his fur. At first i thought it might be fuild but fuild doesnt normally make that kind of noise. What could it be? Should I be worried at it? Take his into the clinic as soon as can?

It's possible the wound could be seeping or there is something bacterial/parasitic going on under the skin, or there is an issue such as a joint or bone that is scraping and that is what you are hearing. Since there are sores on the foot and also strange sounds coming from it, it would be best to bring him to a vet ASAP to rule out issues such as injuries, sprains, breaks, infections, etc that could be causing his symptoms.
