This would depend on the types of intestinal parasites diagnosed. In general, Strongid (pyrantel pamoate) and Panacur (fenbendazole) are two of the most common dewormers used in puppies. Discuss an appropriate dose with your veterinarian before deworming the litter. It will likely need to be repeated in 2 and 4 weeks.

    Common broad spectrum dewormers include fenbendazole (Panacur) and pyrantel pamoate (Strongid). For tapeworm infection, praziquantel should be used. Always discuss an appropriate dose with your veterinarian before administering.

    Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Products that contain Pyrantel (Drontal) or Fenbendazole (Panacur) are broad spectrum deworming agents you may find over the counter at your local pet store. However, it is best if you run a fecal test with Axel's veterinarian first to determine what parasite he is infected with so the right deworming agent or combination of deworming medications can be administered. Panacur (fenbendazole) is probably one of the best broad spectrum dewormers. It treats hookworms, whipworms, roundworms and some tapeworms. It is also used to treat Giardia and lungworms. You will need to contact your veterinarian for a dose based on your dog's body weight. Legally, we are prohibited from recommending doses for medications in the absence of a physical exam and a VPCR (veterinarian-patient-client relationship).

I'm afraid I don't know what is available in India, but some good broad-spectrum dewormer brands include Strongid, Drontal, and Panacur - you can see if any of these are available at your local pet stores or online. Great question! I personally like Panacur. It's an excellent dewormer that you can get OTC. It's a three day course of treatment, and Bella will need another course of treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. She should then be dewormed monthly until she is six months old, and should be dewormed every three months thereafter. I hope this helps!

I'm wondering if you mean Zo has worms. The best thing to buy him is a deworming treatment called Panacur. It kills roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms. You can get it at your vet's office. He will need a second deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. The first treatment kills the adults present while the second one kills the ones that had not yet hatched from eggs at the time of the first treatment. He should then be deworming monthly until six months of age, and then every three months thereafter. I hope this helps!

What is the best dewormer for my puppy and her mother? She isnt nursing or pregant.
If the stools are otherwise normal and there is no blood in the stool, then I would recommend the basic dewormer Pyrantel Palmoate, which treats for hookworms and roundworms. If your pets have obviously loose stool, then they may need a broader spectrum dewormer such as Fenbendazole. However it is always advised to get a fecal exam done first through your vet to identify which worms are present. Once that is done, the appropriate dewormer can be selected because not one dewormer will cover all possible intestinal worms).

Please recommend any/some good medicination for deworming ! As she got 1st vaccination in 47th day and the next scheduled vaccination is on 60th day ! And Luccy''s day from birth is 54th today.
I would recommend an over the counter dewormer like pyrantel. Pyrantel will kill roundworms and hookworms. I am not sure if India has a problem with whip worms or not. I would recommend taking a fecal sample to your local vet to determine what parasite they have and that way you can treat.

I would recommend looking for a pyrantel pamoate product labeled for use in a 1 month old puppy. This dewormer only treats roundworms and hookworms, so if you are suspicious of other types of parasites, a vet should perform a fecal exam to determine which parasites are present.

Panacur is made to remove whipworms primarily. Drontal is formulated for the removal of roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. However, your dog may also have a protozoal parasite that these medications won't cover. It's best to have your vet do a fecal examination to determine what type of parasites your dog may have before deworming him, so that dog can receive the correct medication for the parasites he may have.

There are non-prescription, over the counter, deworming medication is available. They are all usually safe for puppies as long as given according to label instructions. After giving a dewormer dogs can have diarrhea and you could see worms pass in their feces. Most dewormers would take care of the common GI parasites such as roundworms and hookworms. The dewormers you listed are all safe for puppies her age. You could use any of those dewormers however if the vomiting worms continue or she has diarrhea that does not go away within a day she should likely see her veterinarian as it could require a prescription strength dewormer.
