My puppy has a cracked tooth. Is it a puppy tooth? What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 10 days old | 35 lbs

My dog has a crack in his tooth. He is 4 months old so I am not sure if that is a puppy tooth or not. I am afraid of it getting infected or even being an adult tooth. What should I do? Thanks

You will need to take your puppy to a veterinarian for an exam and possible extraction of the tooth. If the pulpa of the tooth is damaged your puppy will need antibiotics, as puppies can get a tetanus infection from a fractured tooth. Please take Onyx to a vet asap.
