I'm looking after mick. I was told to avoid salt. I usually give him chicken with the broth from cooking it. Two or three days ago I ran out and added store bought brought. I gave him around 1/3 of a cup for 2 days. Two or one nights ago he threw up a little. Now I realize the broth has 140 mg per cup. Today he is doing good. Is there anything I need to do?

Hi, and thanks for your question. As these signs are likely to be related to dietary indiscretion, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
