My puppy ate Aleve, vomited, but still throwing up. Is she poisoned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 months and 22 days old | 17 lbs

42 hours ago my 4 month old puppy got a bottle of Aleve. I took it from her very quickly but she did have the bottle open with pills out. I didn’t think she ate any but to be sure I induced vomiting immediately and she vomited about 25 min later. She seemed fine the rest of the day but the next morning threw up twice in a row. She seemed fine the rest of the day. However this morning she tried to throw up before breakfast. Could she have been poisoned even though there were no pills in the vomit

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nessie. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian to ensure that she is not vomiting as a result of an intoxication. Aleve is poisonous to dogs. There is always a chance that she consumed a pill that was not brought up in the vomit. If not, she may be experiencing irritation in gastrointestinal from what you used to induce vomiting. Either way she needs to see her veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
