My dog licks her lips when she sees our cats. She’s been doing better with them. At first we couldn’t get her attention away from them or stop her from chasing them, but it’s only been a few days and I’m able to get her attention away from them and focus on me as well as follow me away from the cats. But if she has them cornered, I can’t get her attention. Will they eventually get along since it’s only been a few day? Also, why do they lick their lips when they see a cat?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, this will likely get better on its own especially since things already appear to be improving. Licking their lips does not necessarily mean anything serious or important. Good luck!
