What to do about a sore bump on my dog's leg? Should I worry?

Hi i have a pit2/cane corso mix he has a sore on his leg that started off as a sm2 bump i just need to know if i should be worried and what can i do for it

I'm not sure from the picture if it's just the mass the side a little bigger than your thumb nail, or if the entire 6 inch round area around the main bump is red. Either way, I would be worried about a growth first and then perhaps an insect bite if you've only noticed it today. Young dogs can have a type of mass called a histiocytoma that is benign and goes away on it's own eventually. I would recommend a vet visit if it's growing in size, just to be on the safe side.
