My cat is throwing up daily and drinking more. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 1 month old | 10 lbs

So my girl cat is throughing up a lot about every day or every other day. She eats normally and drinks pretty normally. But she has been drinking a little bit more since we got my boy cat Buddy in February. She went through this before though, right when we got Buddy. She got better but is now throughing up a lot again. Is there anything I can do?

Hi. Unfortunately vomiting can be caused by a lot of different things. This can range from something the pet ate, something stuck in the intestine such as a string or other foreign body, metabolic or endocrine diseases, food sensitivities, irritable bowel disease, or even some cancers. It is definitely not normal for Tuna to be vomiting that often. I would recommend a visit to your veterinarian. They will perform an exam, lab work, and possibly x-rays which will help Guide to the correct diagnosis. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do from home at this time. Good luck.
